QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF)

This qualification helps learners develop their understanding of the principles of safe manual handling so they can apply what they have learned to their working environment and make their practices safer.

Who Should Attend?

This qualification is suitable for all employees to raise their awareness of the risks of unsafe manual handling practices and for people who might have to carry out manual handling as part of their job, e.g. handling deliveries, parcels and boxes.

It is suitable:

- to raise awareness about the importance of safe manual handling

- as an introduction to those starting work which may involve carrying out manual handling activities

- for those returning to work where manual handling activities may be required

- as safety refresher training.

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling Course Overview

The Qualsafe Awards Level 2 in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification which outlines the reasons for safer manual handling and the legal requirements.

Learners will develop an understanding of how risk assessments can improve safety, the theory of safe movement principles and how to reduce the risk of harm.

Please note: this course is theory based and does not include practical training.

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling Aims and Objectives

To help learners to:

  • understand the importance of safe manual handling
  • know how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
  • understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety.

Learner Numbers

The maximum number of delegates per course is 16.  

Assessment

Assessment will be by a number of multiple choice question papers. There is 1 exam paper per unit. which must be completed under examination conditions.

The maximum time allowed is 25 minutes. The minimum mark to be considered for an overall 'pass' is 11 out of 15.

Certification

You will receive a Qualsafe Awards Level 2 in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF) certificate valid for 3 years.
